Who I Am

I am Dr. Malavi Sivakanesan, a dentist driven by passion, resilience, and a commitment to making a difference. Born to migrant parents who own a chain of dental practices in Norway and growing up seeing their ambitions and success has inspired and motivated me to achieve and strive further to accomplish great things which is part of the reason I feel I can make a difference, my unbeatable motivation to make a change where needed.

With a Masters in Dentistry from the University of Bergen, I have trained extensively across the globe, including advanced courses in Sri Lanka and Italy. My journey has led me to co-found Complete Smiles, one of the highest-grossing squat practices in Harrow.

This innovative hybrid model bridges the divide between NHS and private dentistry, ensuring patients receive timely, accessible, and high-quality care.

The IDCP also focuses on creating fair opportunities and improved working conditions for dental professionals, fostering an environment where both patients and dentists can thrive. It represents a balanced approach to delivering exceptional care while supporting the dental community.

How Does the IDCP Work?

Eligibility
Patients who cannot secure an NHS appointment within 12 weeks are referred to private practices participating in the IDCP.
Participating Practices
Private dental practices, including those employing associate dentists, accept IDCP-referred patients at subsidized rates while maintaining autonomy over their operations.
Cost-Sharing Model
Patients: Pay slightly more than NHS rates but far less than private fees.
Government: Covers part of the treatment cost, ensuring fair reimbursement to practices and dentists.
Practices and Associates: Receive competitive compensation per procedure, ensuring financial sustainability.
Treatment Scope
Covers essential and preventive care (e.g., check-ups, fillings, extractions), excluding purely cosmetic treatments.
